A few videos worth watching

You may well have seen these videos – but just in case I thought I’d post a few up that I’ve enjoyed recently:

First up a fun video from the Norwegian crew who came to visit London and did the whole Disloyalty Card in a day.  Epic, heroic quantities of caffeine consumed!  Quite how they managed to cup with us halfway through the day remains a mystery.  I’m almost jealous of their coffee constitutions: Continue reading “A few videos worth watching”

UBF IV

Much fun was had at the UBF last night. I was pulling shots all night, but had my camera with me so shot a bit of video as we went along which I’ve cut into a fun little thing:

The challenge was head to head pour again, in UBF Branded 1 2oz espresso cups, with 16 entrants battling down to one winner (congrats Brett!). There will be a post on the UBF blog very soon, detailing the results from the night as well as photos too I hope.

  1. I should add a massive thanks to Gwilym here.  ACF offered him some custom cups as a prize for winning the WBC, so he sent them the UBF logo so now we have UBF espresso and capp cups.  The man is awesome!!  ↩︎

Video 10 – Labelling results

In case I don’t make it clear enough in the video – if you can do this (if you are a cafe or roastery) then I would highly recommend this simple experiment.

Arthur Benjamin’s formula for changing maths education

The coffees we used 1:

Blackburn AA

El Carrizo

Ngunguru AA

Tegu AA

  1. this is more so you can read the descriptions than me trying to flog you coffee!  ↩︎

Video 7 – News, thank yous and labels

I suspect I am going to start struggling for post titles soon!

Sorry about the macbook filming again today – no more from now on (honest!).

The tasting will be this Friday (The 17th, not the 16th) from 4pm to 6pm.  I only need 10 minutes of your time to quickly pop in and taste 5 coffees that we will be brewing over and over.  No need to RSVP or anything, but a note in the comments would be nice.

On a side note – I know this post wasn’t published when it was supposed to be, but the video was uploaded on time so I count that as a win and not a fail.  So there!

Video 5 – The return of the absurd

So to wrap up my first successful week (which has been both harder and easier than I imagined):
