And now the wait…

Posting this from the show floor.  I performed a couple of hours ago and slowly the tension is leaking from my body.

My routine didn’t exactly go to plan.  Just like Berne I managed to let two capp shots run too long and had to redo them.  Unlike Berne the power to my heating plates didn’t work during the performance and it meant my signature drink wasn’t as good as it could have been.  I didn’t call technical onstage – a combination of brain freeze and just getting on with things.  I was offered the opportunity to redo the performance today but I have declined, because it shouldn’t have affected my other drinks (regardless of me being a little thrown) and only affected the sig drink slighty.  I am not here with the sole intention of winning, I am here to represent the UK and to do my best and I don’t think a redo is really the right thing.

Regardless I wasn’t quite on the A-game, which is a little frustrating.  I have no idea where I will place, and you don’t find out the complete listings until after the finals are over.  If I make the top 6 I will be very surprised – there is simply too much quality here.

Gonna do a bar shift at the WBC cafe next, which should be fun – Stephen is on the other machine next to me so will try and have a giggle.  Will post the final 6 a bit after the zacharys…

What a great mix the finals lineup was – give one great hope for the future of coffee to see such a spread.
