My new toy

October 26th, 2006

I have started down the worrying path towards DSLR geekdom.  I bit the bullet and bought myself the Canon EOS350D.  And a 18-55mm lense.  I am reliably informed I need a 50mm f1.8 so that is next on the list along with a macro lense.  For now I am delighted just to play and with the quality of shots an idiot like me can get round the flat this evening.

I am a very happy man.

I want one! Friend of mine has one and enjoys making pictures of my coffee.

Give him a comment on the pictures (and me on the coffee :) )

    Hi Jim,

Congrats on you new toy! The 50 f1.8 is a nice lens and best of all, it’s cheap to buy. It may be quite slow to focus on the 350d, though. Also, I find it is a bit “long” for taking pictures indoors and I’m personally looking for a nice low-light prime in the 28 to 35mm range.

Anyway, the images on your blog have been impressive and I look forward to seeing what you can do with this new baby!

    Br,
