The London bombings
I guess I should say something about what happened today. Still trying to decide how to feel about all this.
I took a train into town today about 9.30, having heard on the radio that power surges had knocked out the tube. It wasn’t til I got to a customer in Vauxhaul, and the mobile networks went down, that I realised something might be wrong. The feeling of sickness when I heard about the bus explosion made my stomach feel like lead.
I’m glad I didn’t have to go into Soho in the end, and that that meeting was cancelled. I’m not really looking forward to getting on a tube again any time soon. All my friends and colleagues are accounted for, which makes me very relieved.
Watching the emergency services press conference now - I just can’t imagine what it must have been like to be so deep underground and to go through all that.
A frightening day - but then I suppose thats the point.
